Too many butterflies...

Garden question of the day: is it possible to have too many butterflies?

This morning as I was walking back toward the house after taking care of my chickens, I noticed the butterflies on the clump of volunteer sunflowers.

There were 3 butterflies on one sunflower!

So. of course, I dashed into the house for my camera.

They are so beautiful. So intricate. So delicate. And it's nice they are willing to share.

While I was taking these pictures, there were 5 different swallowtails enjoying the clump of sunflowers.

And I never get tired of watching them. Aren't they amazing?

Well, is it possible to have too many butterflies? I think not. What do you think?

Have a beautiful day!

Bee-utiful sunflower...

O.K., so sorry about that awful title. But these are some rather cool pictures that Kirstin took several years ago.

I didn't plant sunflowers this year, but I do have some volunteers. They have gorgeous buds so I anticipate being able to enjoy the flowers even though I didn't plan for them.

How do you like all those little sweat bees collecting pollen? Pretty amazing, huh? I wonder how many there are.

Have a beautiful day!
