Kirstin's coleus...

Down by her frog pond, Kirstin has several pots containing Coleus that reseeded from last year's plants.

She has been very busy this summer and hasn't been able to spend much time in her garden, but the Coleus still look wonderful.

They are a little wilted since it has been so hot.

She is planning to pick some of them to enter into the Fair.

Aren't the colors gorgeous?

Do you see the "lovely" creature I captured in this photo? It and its colleagues were intent on having me for dinner. You can click on the picture for a larger view, if you are so inclined.

And one more. Such pretty leaves.

Have a beautiful day!

I may have to ask for tips! I never have much luck with coleus for some reason. I love the beautiful leaf colors...they give good contrast in containers and color when not much is in bloom.

Hi, Jennifer, I've only grown the shade coleus. Somehow sun coleus just doesn't seem right! Although they are pretty interesting, too! Mostly, I just keep them watered. One time I used manure tea on them in a couple of pots and they got HUGE! Pinching them helps to keep them bushy and not produce blooms too soon. I really don't do much else with them! They were easy to start from seed and they root easily as well. Good luck! :)
