Sunshine on my deck rail...

The sunshine has reached the deck rail. Yep, I know. That's not earth-shattering, awe-inspiring, or life-changing. It is not photogenic, useful, or motivational. It is not even clever, fun, or unusual.

The deck doesn't have any gorgeous flowers on it (yet) for me to show you. There aren't any cute birds out there at the moment. Even the cats aren't in evidence. Well, not much anyway. All my excitement is focused on that one line between shadow and light.

It is part of the cycle. It is like the long-anticipated bulbs coming up. And the brand new leaves on the roses. It is similar to the first night in a LONG time not below freezing (forecast for tonight) or even the first tomato of summer. It is something special, a marker (for me anyway) in the seasons of the year. And that is why I am so thrilled to see that the sunshine has again reached my deck rail.

Have a beautiful day!

That is so cool, the light on the rail!!! And the plants you put on the deck are always lovely.

P.S. Uh, there is sort of a cat tail in the last picture.

Hooray!! That is indeed worthy of a celebration! Yesterday was like spring here, and I pruned my roses. Unfortunately we will be heading back to freezing temperatures, so I had to restrain myself from further work in my garden.

Happy that my english is good enough to undestand your sign för spring.

Julie, you are SO sweet! :) I'm glad you found the cat's tail; I was hoping someone would! :)

Anne, I pruned a couple of roses in my garden yesterday, too. It was so beautiful yesterday, but we, too, are heading for more cold.

Hi, Rihane, I had just been looking at your blog when I came back to my page and found your comment! :) Thank you! As I was writing my post, I was hoping you would understand what I was saying and I am glad that you did! :)

I loved this one. There are always so many little indicators that a new season is around the corner -- and I like all the indicators for Spring the best. My very favorite is waiting for the crocus to start poking up out of the ground (which they have!).

Have a beautiful week!

I am so glad someone else glories in such an occasion! Last week, when the shadow of our rooftop moved enough to reveal the same thing here -- my deck rail!! -- when I tried to express this joy to the male family members, they just looked at me like I was loony. :-)

(As you can see, I am behind in reading your blog, sorry for the out-of-date responses)

Janice, When I was writing this post, I was thinking that maybe it was kinda silly, that maybe others wouldn't get it about "just" a shadow, but I obviously was wrong! :) And PLEASE don't apologize for out of date responses - I LOVE getting comments! :)
