Hmmm...

Yesterday, as I sat on the ground blissfully playing in the dirt - well, o.k., I was actually planting an African Blue Basil ( a favorite plant) - I came to the disturbing realization that I blog more than I garden. That just didn't seem right to me.

I mean, I DO enjoy blogging about my garden, sharing it with you, and blogging has given me an excuse to spend more time in my garden (that sounds backwards, too). But what I really, truly love doing is the actual GARDENING.

{Myosotis sylvatica aka Forget-Me-Not}

During the Winter, it made sense that I blogged rather than gardened, since gardening was basically impossible. And blogging did help me to stay sane during the Winter. Now that it is Spring, however, it's a different story. So, here's the deal: I'll keep blogging, but I also have to spend WAY more time in my garden.

Have a beautiful day!

I know what you mean. I've been a little disappointed that I've not been getting many comments on my posts because I love the feedback. I've had to remind myself that people are probably just too busy with the spring frenzy of their own.

Jennifer, It is disappointing not to get comments!!! Maybe others are having the same trouble I am leaving comments on your blog? I will keep trying, though! I have added your blog to my Google Reader, so I will be able to read everything you post! :)

K - Thanks for the encouragement! :) And for leaving a comment! :)

I am reading, and enjoying. Sometimes I think about posting a comment that seems rather irrelevant, so I don't. (Like for yesterday, about the Rhodies, "I remember seeing the movie 'Last of the Mohicans' and thinking something didn't look right about the forests--turns out, they filmed parts in NC and I don't think they have Rhodies farther north, do they? Mountain Laurels yes, Rhodies no?")

But Ruth, don't give up the blog! you have to do something in the evening when it is too dark to garden, right? :-)

PS, I love love love forget-me-nots. I have not had any success getting them started at this house though. :-(
And ajuga will always remind me of my father, who planted it as a groundcover for his hilly yard so he wouldn't have to mow so much. It was glorious!
So thank you for this post!!

Daricia - I think blogging has actually been really good for both me AND my garden! :) And I am sure I will enjoy the Charlotte gardens this week-end! :)

jw - feel free to leave a comment, even if it seems irrelevant! It is SO nice to know that people are reading my blog! :) I hope you can get forget-me-nots going - they are adorable! Mine are actually in a pot, but I think they have re-seeded outside of the pot. :)
