Well, I actually got to play in the garden today! I can't remember the last time that happened. I worked on finishing - maybe I should say mostly finishing - a bed I started building several months ago. But I'll show you that later.
My favorite thing blooming right now is my Rain Lilies (Zephyranthes candida). When we returned home from Maryland, they were covered with blossoms in response to the rain that fell while we were gone.
I was concerned that my garden would completely dry up and die while I was gone because the weather had been so hot with so little rain. But it worked out beautifully for the remnants of a tropical storm to come through.
Before I left, I moved all my plants that were in pots and nursery containers to a spot under some very large trees and watered them well. And then the rain come through, ensuring that they survived just fine.
I loved being back in my garden today. I found myself wondering why I do anything else but garden! Maybe I can sneak back out there again tomorrow.
Have a beautiful day!
