Zephyranthes...

We've gotten a bit of rain the past week or two and so my Rain Lily (Zephyranthes candida) has started blooming. If you don't know, they're called Rain Lilies because they bloom after it rains in late summer. I bought the bulbs several years ago and put them in a rain garden in a low place in my yard. But the Bermuda grass took over and it was a battle I was loosing, so I have moved most of the plants that were there, including my Rain Lilies. The Rain Lilies are now on either side of my front steps.

I would absolutely love to have the rainbow of colors of Rain Lilies that Plant Delights Nursery sells. Not too long after we moved here, I found (and bought) a Zephyranthes citrina, which was yellow and I enjoyed it for several years before one spring it didn't come back. Maybe I can find another one again sometime. And maybe sometime I can collect some of the ones that Plant Delights offers. And in the mean time, I have my charming white Rain Lily.

Have a beautiful day!

I don't have any rain lilies, but I've admired a peachy pink one in the plant delights catalog. Your white one is very pretty, too.
